Littering defeats the object of the exercise, so please ensure that the containers are properly closed and the recycling bags are placed on top of the flattened cardboard. Bags of clearly marked "community donations" & electrical discards to be sent with recyclable materials only
Recyclable materials: If it is not on the list, we cannot deal with it, so please throw it in the waste bin. As
a general rule of thumb, items made of two or more interwoven material
types cannot be recycled due to the difficulty and expense of the
separation process.
Simply rinse the food waste off, but please empty all bottles. We are working with severely socially and environmentally challenged people and those few drops of wine in the bottom of the bottle do have a accumulative effect, with potentially very dangerous results, both to themselves and their fellow workers.
*If we need to flatten the cardboard before loading, an additional R50 will be charged | PRODUCT | **CODE | EXAMPLE | Waste! NO THANKS
| | PLASTIC | 1 PET | Coldrink Bottles (e.g. soft drinks) | Food contaminated (Please rinse) | Look for number or abbreviation by recycle logo under the item.

Buying "dump tickets" to bury actual waste, plus the transport thereof (both of which you have already paid the City for) affects the sustainability of the job creation centre!
We really do need you to be pro-active.
